Cuts For The Community

These scissors are snipping and dryers are blowing to support women and children in Central Florida.

Arlene Webber, co-owner of Salon Ciseaux, told us "In our community, people don't give back enough."

There is nothing unusual about Ted Johnson stopping in for a haircut at Salon Ciseaux, except this time he heard about a very special fundraiser.

"Ciseaux wants to help women and children," said Arlene. "We have a soft spot for those people, they are the pillar of our society most times."

Salon Ciseaux teamed up with student stylists from the Paul Mitchell School and launched their first cut-a-thon.

They raised nearly $200, which they donated to the Beta Parenting Center, a private, non-profit organization helping families in Central Florida.

"That's not too bad for a first time," Arlene said.

Customers who made a $20 donation say the cut, blowdry and style is worth their time and money.

Ted told us, "Not only do they give great haircuts, but they are very involved in the community, and whatever I can do to support that, I try to do."

"We make a lot of people very beautiful, and we like to contribute to this community," Arlene said.

That's Building Community,
